WHITE, Leona

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 27, 2009 Leona White, 76, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Infinia of Show Low. Leona was born Feb. 20, 1933. One of her favorite things to do was to sew. She loved going for walks, visiting friends and relatives, going to church in which she was a very active and devoted member. Leona is survived by her foster children, Charlotte Tessler, Leo Ray White and Darrell Toggie; six grandchildren, Elvina Lupe, Elina White, Leo H. White, Tyrone Sanchez, Hollie Sanchez and Reynaldi Suttle; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and godson Jimmy Chino. A two-day wake will begin 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at her residence, 6015 E. Fork Road, in upper East Fork. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the East Fork Lutheran Mission. Interment will be in the Dove Street Cemetery. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
