He is survived by his loving wife, Helen, his nine children, countless grandchildren and friends far and wide. He loved many things, chief among them were God, Country, his family and Camp Verde and time with his wonderful wife, Helen. They found peaceful joy relaxing on the back porch where they entertained close friends and often simply enjoyed each others’ company. Bob had a life well lived. Born in New York City, he grew up in a family of five, the son of an NYPD Detective. He attended Power Memorial High School, served as an MP in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II and subsequently graduated Scranton University on the GI Bill. His success as a businessman began with Liberty Mutual Insurance. From there he became a private investigator and went on to own his own insurance agency, developing an excellent reputation as a leader in his hometown community of Bayside, New York. He gave back to his community through service in numerous civic organizations, all of which he led at one time or another: Kiwanis, PTAs, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus and more. It was through this commitment that Bob found his life’s meaning - service to others in support of community. In 1987, Bob sold his business and moved with his wife, Mickey and son Chris to Camp Verde and immediately became involved in this community. He was known to assist those in need through personal involvement, whether it was delivering meals, supporting the Church or helping Veterans access their the full array of benefits to which they were entitled. Bob enjoyed the camaraderie and civic role of Camp Verde Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus and other organizations as he worked to advance CV’s spirit of community. He was known as the host of Channel 18’s “Window on Main Street” program, tapping into an inexhaustible supply of fascinating individuals to interview right here in Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Conlon (d.1957) and Rose “Mickey” Glaser (d.2002). He is survived by his wife Helen Dinegar, his nine children and countless grandchildren.
