The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 26, 2010 June Ruth Kowal, 77, passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, in Prescott with her family by her side. She was born June 1, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. to Berger and Ethel Olsen. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Maurer (Ron) of Chino Valley; grandchildren: Amber, Katie, Adam, Jerry III, Maggie, Steven, Mona, Annamarie, Cheyenne and Cody; nieces: Corrine, Robin, Carla, Erika, Donna, Matthew, Karen and Christine; nephews, Chuck and Kenny; sister-in-law Betty Olsen; daughter in law, Patty Kowal; 14 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kowal Sr.; brothers, Ken Olsen and Robert Olsen; sister Carole Olsen and sons, Jerry Kowal Jr. and Steve Kowal. A Catholic mass service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at St. Catherine LaBoure Catholic Church, 2062 N. state Route 89, Chino Valley, AZ 86323 (phone 928-636-4071) with a celebration of life following the services at Chino Valley Community Church, 1969 N. state Route 89 (phone 928-636-4184) in Chino Valley. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in June Kowal's name to St. Catherine LaBoure Catholic Church or Chino Valley Community Church to cover funeral costs.
