PARRACK, Milton Dean


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 2, 2010 Milton Dean Parrack, 79, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at his home in Overgaard. He was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Enid Oklahoma. He was the oldest child of Ira Eugene and Esther Haindle Parrack. Milton received his education in Canadian, Texas and the military. He joined the Army at an early age serving in Japan and Korea for 10 years. On Aug. 13, 1952, he received an honorable discharge. He came to Twin Falls, Idaho where he met his wife Connie. They worked and lived on a farm for four years. In the fall of 1964 they moved the family to Phoenix, where he worked as a mechanic and supervisor for the City of Phoenix. In 1974 the family again moved to Overgaard where he owned the Shell Station then drove log trucks for Reed Smith, Lewis Tenney and Loni Porter. Later he drove over the road, long haul trucks and was known as “Rubber Duck.” He retired in 1993. He is survived by his eternal companion Connie Shaffer Parrack; four sons Dale Ray of Camp Verde, Carl W, Billy Ray of Vernal Utah and Larkin Dean of Peoria; threedaughters Karen Lee Ehle of Phoenix, Janet Lee Yarn of Taylor and Tonya Jean Thomas of Lyman, Wyo.; 40 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; sister Anna Gene Crompton of Buckeye, and brother Robert Eugene Parrack of Benson. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel in Heber.
