The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 14, 2010 Marion Ann (Gilbert) Tiegs, 83 of Oro Valley died Sept. 9, 2010, in Tucson. She was a retired educator at Western Community School District in Buda, Ill. and education consultant for the State of Illinois gifted program. She was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Donora, Pa., daughter of the late Walter and Madelyn Skinner Grantham. She is survived by her sons Eric Gilbert (Diane) of High Rolls, N.M.; Rich Gilbert of Nashville, Tenn.; grandson Matt Gilbert (Stephanie) of Pasadena, Md.; sister Linda Stengele (Carl) of Fox River, Ill. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Lewis Grantham, sister Eleanor Farrell, brother Fredrick Grantham and husband Frank Tiegs. Cremation will be conducted at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley. She requested no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Casa De La Luz Hospice in Tucson or the American Cancer Society.
