In loving memory of Zina Caddo Cody who went home to be with her heavenly Father Aug. 29, 2010, in Mesa. She was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Cibecue.
Zina loved spending time with family and friends. She was born with a green thumb and loved her garden. She enjoyed the outdoors when it came to family cookouts. She was an excellent seamstress.
She made beautiful campdresses for her daughters and granddaughters. She also did beadwork, cradlebroad and loved traditional Apache food. We know Zina will always be with us in Spirit and loves each and everyone of her children, grandchildren and extended family. "We in return will miss her deeply."
Zina is survived by her daughters Belita C Toftdahl, Beverly Cody, Roberta Cody, Brenda C. Paddlety, Nina C. Edison; Sons: Robert Cody Jr., Crunch Cody; brother Glen Caddo; sisters Rita Dazen, Alta Jessen; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Cody Sr. and granddaughter Brittany Duryea.
A two-night wake will start at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at her residence (1319 N. Yucca Flat) in Whiteriver. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at the White Mountain Apache Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Hoyt officiating. Interment will be at the Shadow Mountain Cemetery in Cibecue.
Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
