Alvin H. Dodge, 90, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at his residence in St. Johns. He was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Central, Az. Alvin served his country in the US Army, 314th Battalion, in World War II and was a union member carpenter.
He enjoyed working in construction, remodeling homes, and building bird houses to rocking chairs. He enjoyed camping, the game of horse shoes, rock hunting, and gardening. Alvin loved spending time with family and friends.
Alvin is survived by his wife Corina Romero Dodge; daughters Sharon Taylor and Eloise Stowell; step-children Jake (Gabie) Romero, Sandra (Louie) Leyba, Joe (Ramona) Romero, James (ReneƩ) Romero, Julian (Angela) Romero, Le Roy Romero, Josie (Kirby) Mineer, Chris (Cheryl) Romero, Lawrence (Danilee) Romero, Frank (Mary) Romero, Corina Romero, Paul (Sharlene) Romero, Nancy (Ken) Newton and Maria (Patrick) Watson; 43 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Rodney Dodge, daughter Ellen Dodge and step-son Mike Romero.
A viewing was held Aug. 26, at Barth Hall, St. Johns. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. in Central, Arizona. Interment will follow the service.
