Leslie Joel Mortenson died peacefully at his home in Taylor June 27, 2010. He served as a radar-man in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served from 1960-64.
Leslie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He retired after working for 36 years at the Union Pacific Railroad.
He is survived by his wife LouAnn Carnes Mortenson of 38 years, whom he married in St. David. They have two sons Trent Marshal (Jenny) of Snowflake, Matt Andrew (Kristin) of Gilbert; five grandchildren; brother Duane Mortenson of Benson; sisters Audry Rowher (Carl) of Texas and Marilyn Allaire (Tommy) of Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oral and Leatha Olivia Mortenson and two brothers Glen and Andrew.
A public viewing will be held Friday July 2, at 9 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taylor, Love Lake Chapel, with the funeral service following at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow the services at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
Arrangements were handled by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor.
