Sharon Ann Damron, 55, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her home in Eagar. She was born Dec. 12, 1954, in Washington, D.C., to John Edward and Julia Fay Mortensen Folkner.
Sharon lived in a group home for adults with special needs. She learned many new skills and gained many great friendships during her time there. She also worked at The Reeves Foundation.
Her job was to help shred paper, although she felt it was her job to make others laugh. Everyone she met was a friend. She always had a smile for everyone and never an ill word. She brought joy to those around her. Sharon will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her father John Edward Folkner; stepmother Darlene Folkner; brothers George Phillips, Fred (Michelle) Folkner; sisters Sue (Terry) Young, Rose (Tom) Colby, Roberta Richardson, Susan (Leroy) Pollard, Doreen (Mike) Selby and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Julia Fay Mortensen Folkner; grandfather Kenneth Alton Mortensen; grandmother Huleta S. Merrill Mortensen; grandfather James Edward Folkner and grandmother Julia Melvina Masterson Folkner.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springerville. Interment followed at the Eagar Cemetery.
