Edward L. "Andy" Anderson, 63, of Linden was called to join God in heaven March 4, 2010, after losing a battle of one year with esophageal cancer.
Andy was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Jersey City, N.J., the son of Walter and Hazel (Clayton) Anderson. He served in the United States Air Force for 20-½ years, 15 years at Allied and 1-½ years at the U.S. Post Office in Show Low. He had been a resident of the Show Low area since 1999. He volunteered on the Linden Fire Relief Team after the Rodeo-Chediski Fire for five years helping land owners in Timberland Acres clean their land and helping them start again.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion Nancy of 40 years; two daughters Jeanne and Eileen; two grandchildren Sammie and William; sisters Dorothy Parish and Andrea Anderson; brother Robert Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Anderson.
Memorial services were held at noon Sunday, March 7, at the Show Low Elks Lodge, 805 E. Whipple. Military rite was performed by the Veterans of the White Mountains Honor Guard.
Arrangements were handled by Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
