MOORE, Boude Clisby


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ May 11, 2005 Boude Clisby Moore, 80, of Clarkdale, died May 6, 2005. He was born March 11, 1925, in Nagasaki, Japan, to the Rev. Boude Chambers Moore and Anna MacAlpene. On March 18, 1944, he married Ramona Faye Smith and attended Caltech, graduating with a master's degree in 1950. He worked for McDonald Douglas for 35 years in the vacuum chamber field. He is survived by two sons, Boude Clyde Moore, of Sepulveda, Calif., and John Walter Moore, of Colorado; four daughters, Anna Quincy, of Spokane-Cheney, Wash., Melinda Reins, of Bakersfield, Calif., Mona Lyddon and Jeana Corbett, both of Chester, Calif.; his wife of 25 years, S. Leigh; a step-daughter that he gained, Jan E. Treosper, of Clarkdale; two stepsons, William Johnson, of Cottonwood, and Preston Johnson, of Cottonwood; a sister, Katherine Moore, of Washington; brothers James Moore and Lardner Moore, both of Ashville, N.C., and Dan Moore, of Ohio; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Boude and Leigh moved to Cottonwood in 1994 after six years working at Caltech on the gravity wavedetecion project, LIGO. He continued consulting after retirement, sang in the Mountain View United Methodist Church Choir and was a member of the Verde Valley Voices. Memorial services are planned for June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Mountain View United Methodist church in Cottonwood.
