She was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was a homemaker. A wake will be held at 9 a.m. today, with the funeral services at 10 a.m, at LDS Church. The burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. She was 85 years old. She was born December 10, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Earl T. and Florence (Carter) King. Darlene married Robert Clyde Lemmon May 29, 1946 in Salt Lake City, UT. She moved from Utah to Yuma in 1960 with her young family. She was a remarkable woman who endured to the end quietly and patiently. She had a unique laugh and good spirited sense of humor. Above all, she loved her family. Once when a granddaughter was painting her nails for her, she was asked "Grandma, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you like to go? And she said "Anywhere as long as I was with all my children and grandchildren." That really says it all. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; an older brother, Earl; a younger sister, Jeannie Gooddard; and infant son, Larry, whom will all be welcoming her home with loving arms. Darlene is survived by 5 children, a daughter, Nancy (Erny) Kuncl of Mtn. Green, UT, and sons, Tom (Patty) of Yuma AZ, Jim (Debbie) of Centennial, CO, Rob of Yuma, AZ, Steve (Chris) of Pleasant View, UT; 25 grandchildren and 42 great- grandchildren. Funeral Services will be handled by Yuma Mortuary.
