YEAGER, Kathy

(Maiden Name: Freitag)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, January 18, 2011 Kathy Yeager, 61, of Independence, Calif., formerly of Flagstaff, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. Sadly, she was joined in death by her much loved sister, Beverly Reilly. Mrs. Yeager was not only a great mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, but a dear friend to many. She and her husband, Robert, started a family and lived in Lake Isabella, Calif., for many years. They moved to Flagstaff and made many new and dear friends. After she retired, she moved back to California to be near family. Mrs. Yeager was always full of life, and she gave so much to the ones around her. She loved being outdoors and starting new adventures while hiking, rafting, hunting, fishing and camping. One of her other loves was bringing happiness and warmth to so many special individuals by making quilts. Her quilts were often sewn alongside her sister, Beverly. Together, the two women stitched with love for each recipient. She enjoyed traveling to see her five grandchildren in Alaska, Colorado and Kansas. Her sister often joined her in the adventures to see family and friends along the way. Mrs. Yeager's strong dedication, love and kindness were felt by everyone in her life. She touched many hearts throughout her life -- no words can describe how dearly she will be missed. Mrs. Yeager is survived by her children, Robert (Deborah) Yeager of Alaska, Bryan (Debbie) of Colorado and Mindy (Lance) Braun of Kansas; brother-in-law Dennis Reilly; sister Debbie Freitag; five grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Yeager; and parents Esther and Emil Freitag. A celebration of life for the two sisters, Kathy Yeager and Beverly Reilly, was held Jan. 1, 2011, at the Santa Margarita Ranch. A family fund has been set up in the name of Jeff and Alie McKee at the Santa Lucia Bank. Contributions can be sent to P.O. Box 200, Santa Margarita, CA 93453, or to any Santa Lucia Bank branch.
