The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ January 18, 2011 William Owens, 69, of Snowflake died Jan. 14, 2011, in Phoenix. He was born May 25, 1941, in Glendale William served his country in the army, worked at the Snowflake fire department for 20 years and was a member of the Hashknife Pony Express for 20 years. He is survived by his family: Elizabeth Cook (Wayne), Donna Owens (Gater), Sarah Rodrigue (John), Eilene Lee (Jamie) and 18 grandkids, eight great-grandchildren and his best friend Jackie Arney. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Owens and parents, Robert and Maxine Owens. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan.18, at 1440 Eager Ave. in Snowflake. Arrangements were handled by his children, Hashknife Pony Express, American Legion and the Snowflake Fire Department.
