DREYER, Mason Henry

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ September 18, 2005 Mason Henry Dreyer died Sept. 14, 2005. He was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Caldwell, Idaho. Mason was known around Cottonwood as "The Cookie Man." After the loss of his wife Dorothy, he took pleasure in baking his special cookies for his favorite people around the Valley - the bank tellers, grocery clerks, nurses and doctors, his mail carrier and neighbors. He was preceded in death by Dorothy. He is survived by sons Rawlin H. Dreyer and Steven E. Dreyer, both of Cottonwood; daughters Alice (Rick) Rowden, of Cottonwood, and Linda (Ben) Lear, of Garden City, Mo.; sister Myrtle Hopper, of New Meadows, Idaho; grandchildren, Brent and Lisa Lear, Sheena and Corey Abrams, Joshua and Allison Dreyer, and Brian and Mara Dreyer, all of Missouri; and eight great-grandchildren. No services are planned. Mason's ashes will be interred at Clear Creek Cemetery in Camp Verde next to his wife's.
