Edward "Eddie" Blanda, 67, of Cornville, died Aug. 30 in his home. He was buried Sept. 6, in Mt. Auburn, Stickney, Ill.
Mr. Blanda, formerly of Cicero, Ill., was a printer, drill press and thin film layout operator for Western Electric before retiring at the age of 48. He was a long-time volunteer for Mary Queen of Heaven's Bingo Program, Scout leader and he enjoyed going to car shows with his 1971 Dodge Charger and winning many trophies.
Mr. Blanda is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gerry; sons David, Allen and Anthony; grandchildren Randy, Victor, Vanessa and Michael. He had two sisters, Dorothy (Joe) Bialek and Pat (Al) Montes; stepbrother Michel Olivares, late brother Daniel (Lydie). He also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a memorial mass at Immaculate Conception, Arizona 89A and Bill Grey Road Sept. 26, 10 a.m.
