Kurt (Harry) Kreibich, 72, died Oct. 22, 2005, at his home in Litchfield Park. He was born on Jan. 12, 1933, in Germany, son of Heinrich Josef Kreibich and Elsa Maria Franze.
Mr. Kreibich retired from Delco Electronics in 1998, and moved to Cottonwood, where he resided until June 2005. Kurt was an accomplished skier, and avid hiker, traveler, talker, and fun loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He never knew a stranger.
Upon his arrival in the United States, Mr. Kreibich served in the U.S. Army. He very proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1968. At 21, he competed for the Olympic Trials in Germany, and continued to compete and win medals for skiing into his late 60s.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; son, Michael; daughter, Linda; daughter-in-law Debbie; grandchildren Julianna, Kanoi, Alisha, Chris, Jonathon and wife, Briana; great-granddaughte, Jadynn; and friends too numerous to name.
Viewing will be today, Oct. 26, at Best Funeral Services, West Valley Chapel, 9380 W Peoria Ave., Peoria, from 3 to 6 p.m.
