BROCKERT,
James Paul
Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ
Wednesday, January 19, 2011
The family of James Paul Brockert, 75, sadly announces his passing on Jan. 12, 2011. Jim was born June 6, 1935, in Madison, Wis. He moved to Arizona where he met Mary Lou, his beloved wife of 52 years.
Jim was an active member of the community, residing on the Globe School Board, Lions Club, Elks, and Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer fireman for the Globe Fire Department, served as deputy sheriff, president of the Globe Little League and Globe Babe Ruth Baseball League, and was an avid bowler.
He was a loyal, loving family man and a friend to all who knew him. His passion for life radiated and his positive attitude and disposition were immeasurable, even in the most difficult of times. Brockert’s Bath Boutique was not simply a provider of plumbing supplies; it was also a therapeutic stop for support and encouragement for all in need. He was a mentor, an advisor, a father, a husband, a grandfather, and a brother. Above all, he was a best friend who will never be forgotten. And who knows, if we play our cards right, “if the Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise,” we will join him again one day.
Jim is survived by Mary Lou; four children, Matthew Brockert, Sheila (Art) Brockert Rodriguez, Earl (Julie) Brockert, Geneva Brockert, and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Richard (Esther) Brockert, Mike (Patricia) Brockert, Danny (Jeannine) Brockert, his twin sisters Martha (Joe) Skamel, and Mary (Don) Idler.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Holy Angeles Catholic Church. The rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. with mass at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at the Globe Elks Club.
Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
