JONES, Ina Belle

Ina Belle Cartwright Jones died peacefully in her sleep Monday, January 5, 2004. She was born June 11, 1902 in Elgin, TX to William and Una Mae Cartwright, the oldest of their five children. The family moved to Bay City, TX which remained the home of Ina's heart her whole life. She attended Sam Houston Teachers College and then taught in the TX Rio Grande Valley. She married Charles Scott Jones in 1935. They had one child, Michael Don. She and her husband moved to Tucson in 1950. Ina had an enormous curiosity and quick intellect and was an avid reader. She loved all animals, gardening, music, dancing and her church and God. She loved her family above all. She was much beloved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott; and son, Michael. She is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Jones of Tucson and Scottie Cain of Spokane, WA; and by her youngest sister, Margaret Jo Dougherty of Pasadena, TX; as well as numerous nieces, grandnieces and grand -nephews. Memorial service will be at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Road on Friday Jan 9, 2004.
