Clarence Ward (Bus)
Clarence Ward "Bus" Whitney, 90, a life long resident of Glendale, AZ, Passed away January 6, 2004.
Clarence, a Glendale Pioneer, was born January 31, 1913.
He married his wife Mildred, June 19, 1940.
They owned and operated Whitney Brothers Laundromat for 31 years. During those years, he had the contract for cleaning all of the athletic team uniforms for the Glendale High School district. Following retirement, he served the American Red Cross as a volunteer driving the van and as a switchboard operator. As a young man he played on many local baseball teams and was an avid baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred. He is survived by his daughter Carol Kingman of Las Vegas, NV, Grandchildren Camille, Spencer and Ashley Kingman.
Graveside service Saturday at Glendale Memorial Park 7844 N. 61st Ave. Memorial Service Saturday at Menke Funeral Home 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Sun City. Memorials suggested to The American Red Cross or the Leukemia Foundation, Menke Funeral Home (623) 979-6451.
