Ortega, Elsie G. Elsie G. Ortega went to meet our Heavenly Father on June 27, 2004. Born December 27, 1927 in Phoenix, Arizona. At age 3 the family moved back to their home in Cirena Durango, Mexico. She was married in Palmito Durango, Mexico at age 17 to Oscar X. Ortega who precedes her in death by 21 years. Mom will be missed not only by her family but all who knew her. She was always dutiful in fulfilling her role as wife, mother, her callings in church as well as her civic responsibilities. With her smile and positive personality she was always the strength and foundation of her family. Also, preceding her in death was son Ernesto M. Ortega. Elsie is survived by sons Oscar D., Jose A., Hugo F., Mario R. and daughter Alba L. Diaz, 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Services were held at L.D.S church at 997 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa, AZ. Published in the Arizona Republic on 6/30/2004.
