AMIDON, Brett Derek


Brett Derek Amidon was born in Phoenix on November 6, 1986 and passed away on January 6, 2004. Brett was a Junior at Greenway High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, played football and baseball. From the time he was a toddler, Brett never met a stranger, always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. His smile and laughter could light up any room. Brett will always be remembered for the kind and gentle person that he was, and that he was always willing to make himself available to help others with their issues. He is survived by, Mother, Joann Amidon and her life partner Loren Comstock, Brother Koll Madril, Grandparents John and Carolyn "Mamot" Amidon, Most special Aunt Jeneane Amidon, Cousin Jenea Leschniok, Cousin and friend Darrin Smiley, Father Robert Smallwood, Jr., Grandfather Robert Smallwood, Sr., his half brother and sister Jake and Christina Smallwood, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Brett will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. Funeral Service was held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, also at Chapel of the Chimes. Interment at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale. In lieu of flowers, family requests that contributions be made in Brett's name to the Arizona Literacy & Learning Center, 77 E. Columbus, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
