DOERGE, Maynard H.


Black's Mortuary, Show Low, Arizona Maynard H. Doerge (December 31, 1925 - January 8, 2011) Maynard Doerge, was born December 31, 1925, in El Dorado, AR, to Dewey Clarence and Cleydith (Wooley) Doerge. He passed away on January 8, 2011, in Lakeside having just passed his 85th birthday. Maynard was preceded in death by his wife, Lesley Booth Doerge; sister, Jean Hoke and son, Johnny M. Booth. He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Yingst and husband Dan; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Maynard served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was an alumnus of the University of Houston. He began his work in the oil industry as a petroleum engineer for Abercrombie Oil in Old Ocean, TX; later in production for Gulf Oil in Venezuela, South America and retiring for Chevron Oil at the corporate offices in Houston, TX. After the death of his wife, he moved to Show Low, AZ where he pursued his life long love of hunting, fishing and gardening. Known to some as “The Western Gardener” he was always ready to share the bounty of his large gardens with family, friends and neighbors. He was never too busy for a hunting or camping adventure with his friends and always looked forward to them. He will be missed by all of us. Goodbye, “Doerge”.
