The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, January 22, 2011 Arity Findlay died in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 20, 2011 - her 83rd birthday. Mrs. Findlay was born Arity Jelliffe in New Jersey in 1928, mostly raised in Middletown. In 1950 she married Robert Findlay, whom she had known since childhood. They lived in several cities around the country in connection with his title insurance work. The couple settled in Prescott and moved to Prescott Valley shortly before Robert's death in 2005. The Findlays had two children: Robert of Kingman, Ariz., and Sally Tillman of Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Findlay was deeply involved in her community, volunteering at the library and hospital. An accomplished musician, she played the piano and organ. Survivors include a sister, Lynn Friis of Somers, N.Y.; granddaughters Katrina and Tara Findlay; daughter-in-law Linda Findlay of Kingman; and son-in-law Barrett Tillman of Mesa. A celebration of life will be held 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in the chapel of the Prescott Veterans Hospital, with a gathering to follow at the Findlay home in Prescott Valley.
