BENNETT, Ethel May

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, January 22, 2011 Ethel M. Bennett, a mother of unsurpassed beauty and strength, left this world on Jan. 12, 2011. She was surrounded by the love of family, relatives and many friends. Ethel was a long-time resident of Prescott, Ariz., and was the proud mother of six daughters. She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Morgan, Margie Payne, Donna Ashby and Jaquetta Ward; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Ethel has gone to join her husband, father of her children, Preston Bennett; her second husband, Lloyd Stanley; her longtime companion, Fred Green; her daughters, Lorraine Dollarhide and Daisy Enhelder; and grandchildren Tammy Jensen, Nicole Ward and Scott Ward. Ethel was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on Sept. 23, 1917, but has always considered Arizona as her home. She spent her early years in the Skull Valley and Kirkland area. She and her family spent a few years in Oregon but she was eager to return to her beloved Arizona. She had a long career as a nurse's aide at the Yavapai County Hospital and the Pioneers' Home; she retired in 1982. She returned two and half years ago to the Pioneers' Home as a resident. Ethel will always be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her for her sincere warmth and her caring and loving nature. Even though life wasn't always easy, she was readily available with a smile, words of encouragement, a sense of humor, a positive attitude and a heart full of love. Memorial services will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at the Eagles Club, 218 N. Cortez, Prescott, Ariz.
