HUGHES, Elda Melva

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ January 04, 2006 Elda Melva Hughes, 94, of Cottonwood, died Dec. 29. She was born May 24, 1911, in Sidney, Mont. She was a teachers college graduate and was an elementary school teacher (second grade) in Wilsall and Bozeman, Mont. In Livingston, Mont., she was the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. She was a bridge player and enjoyed crafts. Mrs. Hughes is survived by a nephew, Richard Doran of Cottonwood and Daniel Doran of Pendleton, Ore.; a niece, Donna Olson of Tyler, Texas; and a sister of Virginia Muller of Tyler Texas.
