SPENCER, Marcie


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ February 08, 2006 Marcie Spencer, 75, died Feb. 3, 2006, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born Nov. 18, 1930, in Minnesota, Marcie later married Kenneth R. Spencer on Nov. 5, 1949. They raised four children, and have been living in Camp Verde since 1984. Marcie loved God and trusted Jesus Christ as her savior, and was active in home fellowships and Bible studies most of her life. She also enjoyed raising unusual pets such as raccoons, owls, monkeys, quail, and squirrels as well as the more usual cats, dogs, and ferrets. In addition, she liked to knit, play Scrabble, do leather-tooling, work crosswords puzzles, and watch "Jeopardy." Marcie is survived by her husband Ken; her two brothers, Ken and Tom Hansen; her four children Kevin and James Spencer and Sandy Williams and Kandy Powers; her "adopted" children John and Ruth Curtis and Brett and Chandra Thomas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was Feb. 7 at Bueler­Hepler Funeral Home in Camp Verde.
