The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ February 12, 2006 Tamara O'Neill, 68, of Camp Verde, died Feb. 2, 2006, in Camp Verde. Tamara was born in Moscow, Russia, March 31, 1937, to the late Josef and Ester Varda. Later her family moved to Iran where she met her future husband John "Duke" O'Neill. Tamara and Duke were together since 1971 and had a long and loving relationship. After many travels Tamara and Duke settled in Camp Verde in 1990. Tamara was very sociable and loved people. She was truly a people person. She enjoyed life with its many challenges and triumphs. Tamara loved to paint, especially landscapes which she painted from memory. The Verde Valley provided many beautiful scenes for her to capture. Tamara and Duke loved to travel together and enjoyed long road trips with their RV. Tamara is survived by her husband John "Duke" O'Neill and many friends. A Memorial Service is planned Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. in The Chapel of Bueler­Hepler Funeral Home, 143 Arnold St., in Camp Verde. Following the service a gathering will be held at the American Legion Hall at 276 S. Third St. in Camp Verde. Bueler­Hepler Funeral Home assisted the family.
