The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ February 12, 2006 Sandra G. Roberts Sandra G. Roberts, 80, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 6, 2006. She was born on August 20, 1925 to William John Gasell and Marie Magna (Stewart) Gasell in Summerville, Tenn. She attended the Art School of Chicago where her love for art flourished. Sandra met and married the love of her life, Merrill, in Jackson, Tenn., where he was attending his Primary Flying School. They married in Goldsboro, N.C. Sandra was a devoted homemaker. She loved being a wife and mother more than anything. As a military wife, she also enjoyed being a part of the Air Force Wives Club wherever they were stationed. Sandra also loved art; she was very good with painting and drawing. Sandra leaves behind her dedicated and beloved husband of 61 years, Merrill Roberts, of Cottonwood; her sweet children, Steven Roberts of Portland, Ore., John Roberts of Camp Verde, David Roberts of San Diego, Calif., Mike Roberts of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Mary Ann Gaddipatti of Foxboro, Mass.; her adored seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as her loving brothers and sister, Jack Gasell of Lakeland, Fla., William Gasell of Ocala, Fla., and Bonita Blackwood of Victoria, Texas. She will be truly missed and her sweet memory will carry on in all who loved and knew her. Funeral arrangements were handled by Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
