STANWISE, Henry

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ February 12, 2006 Henry Stanwise Henry Stanwise, 67, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 10, 2006. He was born March 2, 1938, to Henry and Helen Stanwise in Rigewood, N.Y., where he grew up and attended both the Seventy Seven Public School in Queens and Bushwick High School. Henry moved to Long Island as a young adult. Here he worked as a quality control inspector for WNH Manufacturing. He also enjoyed all the seasonal activities, such as fishing in the spring and summer and snow skiing in the fall and winter. In 1997 Henry moved to the Phoenix area where he again worked with Quality Control. He remained in the Valley of the Sun for about three years; he then went to Florida for about a six-month span. Being an individual who appreciated beautiful scenery, when Henry returned to Arizona in 2000, he made his final home in Cottonwood. Even in his older years, Henry still loved being outside; you could always find him busy with his yard work. Henry was a people-person, and he was an early morning riser. He loved to stand out at the end of his driveway, waving to those who drove past, greeting and visiting those who walked by. He also enjoyed watching a little television, and playing poker or the slots. Henry will be dearly missed. His subtle, but genuine love will forever remain with those he left behind: his loving sister, Lois Stanswise; his friend and brother, Robert "Bob" Stanwise; his five adored nephews, and his two sweet nieces. Funeral arrangements were handled by Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
