Warren Earl Malott, 85, of Cottonwood, died Feb. 23, 2006. Mr. Malott was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Batavia, Ohio.
He attended Batavia High School and graduated in 1940.
Mr. Malott was the owner of the Shell Service Station in Batavia, Ohio, and later became owner of the Mobil Service Station in Batavia as well. He was manager of Firestone Tread Shop in Flagstaff and driver for Valley Auto Sales in Cornville.
Mr. Malott was a member of Central Arizona Lodge #14, Free & Accepted Masons, joined the Batavia Masonic Lodge 1954 in Batavia, Ohio, and received his 50-year pin from Verde Lodge #14, Free & Accepted Masons, Cottonwood.
Warren loved woodworking and was an accomplished carpenter.
Warren served in the Navy during World War II from June 14, 1943, until his discharge Nov. 27, 1945. His rank was machinists mate (R) second class (T) U.S. Navy Reserve.
Mr. Malott was preceded in death by his parents Orie and Jessie Malott. He is survived by his wife Lelia S. Malott, his son Dan Malott, of Flagstaff, daughters Diane (Roland) Ekstrom, of Phoenix, and Devon (Tim) Lewis of Yuma; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
There will be a Masonic Memorial and Military Service on Thursday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at Greer's Mortuary of Sedona, 2725 W Hwy 89A.
Greer's Mortuary of Sedona assisted the family with the arrangements.
