Nancy Faye Philp Allen, age 77 of Thatcher, Ariz., returned to live with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011. She was born on Sept. 21, 1933 in Miami, Ariz. to Alfred and Fidelia Philip. Nancy passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by four generations of loved family members.
Nancy was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many auxiliaries. She served a mission with her husband to Martin’s Cove in Wyoming. Nancy served as a worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple for many years and more recently she served in the Gila Valley Arizona Temple. She was a gifted seamstress and loved to sew for her family and friends. Nancy is remembered as a great source of strength to her family in the example of the way she led her life.
Nancy is survived by, her husband of 59 years, Seth S. Allen; and her four children, Janice (Ron) Howard, Lori (Darrell) Stephenson, Patricia Allen, and Paul Allen; 14 grandchildren, Wendy (David) McMartin, Scott (Shelley) Howard, Cami (Aaron) Hayes, Missy (Richard) Bigler, J.R. (Stephanie) Howard, Becky (Nathan) Buhr, Shannon (Jason) Green, Elder Wayne Stephenson, Shari (Matt) Allen, Katelyn Stephenson, Alyssa (Del) Western, Bethany (Jake) Finlinson, Shelby Allen and Garrett Allen; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nancy were conducted Monday, Jan. 24, at the Thatcher L.D.S. Stake Center by Bishop Ron Howard of the Thatcher Third Ward. Concluding services followed in the Thatcher Cemetery.
