DOAN, Keith

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ January 28, 2011 Keith Doan, 46, died Jan. 21, 2011 at the Odyssey Hospice as a result of a heroic battle with a chronic illness. He was born and raised in the White Mountains of Arizona. Keith started college at the age of 16 and went on to be a manager with Marriott after graduation, then to work for Red Lobster, where he always felt at home. His career was cut short through a long and hard fight that no one will forget. He was always a professional and cared for all those who he worked for and managed. Keith was fair, kind and considerate, with a high sense of fairness and honesty. He never asked for anything from anybody, all he wanted was a fresh cup of coffee, a good book, and a ‘cig' to pass the time. Keith started work as a busboy, following in his mother's footsteps. He went on to wait tables, get a degree, and manage restaurants, which was his passion. During his career, he made many friends whom he called part of his family. He always wanted to be in the warmth of friends and his career, Florida was his home. Keith leaves behind his parents Bob and Helen; two brothers: Robbie and Donnie; sisters: twin Kris, Sandi, Lois, and Pam; aunts, uncles, cousins galore; and his many friends both personal and professional. "We will all miss him." There will be several memorial services for Keith: Odyssey Heath Care Fort Worth Texas to be held in February and at the family home in Lakeside in July and Key West Florida, this summer. The actual dates will be set later. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to AIDS Outreach Center, Fort Worth, TX.
