The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ Thursday, January 27, 2011 Stephen S. Palffy (1912 - 2011) Stephen S. Palffy, 99, of Phoenix, passed on January 25, 2011. Born in West Pulliam, IL January 20, 1912. Steve was married 63 years to his wife, Bernice, who preceded him in death. Steve was a World War II veteran of the India campaign. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1975. His passion was being “on the road’ with his wife and dog in their travel trailer. Steve could fix anything he came across. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister and nephew. His stories of life will be missed. A celebration of his life will be held at the graveside at 11 am, Friday, January 28, 2011, at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren. Information provided by survivors.
