The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ July 12, 2006 Alyce Beard, 97, of Cottonwood, died July 5, 2006. She was born in Camp Verde on Nov. 1, 1908, to William and Maud (Reid) Goddard. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Valenzuela, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be private.
