GREENWOOD, Edward (Jim)


The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ July 28, 2006 Edward 'Jim' Greenwood Jim Greenwood died on July 24. He was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Paterson, N.J. to the late Edward and Violet Greenwood. He previously lived in Hopatcong, N.J., Sedona, . Haledon, N.J., and recently moved to Asheville, N.C. Mr. Greenwood worked in construction as a block mason and carpenter. During the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. In 1974, Jim was certified as one of Arizona's first paramedics. He was a member of the Sedona/Red Rock Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Lodge and an NRA instructor in Sedona. He is survived by a brother, Don, and wife Susan Greenwood, who reside in Wayne, N.J.; two sons, Kelly and wife Lois Greenwood reside in Asheville, N.C., Keith and wife Betty Greenwood reside in Bennett, Colo., and daughter Candace and husband Greg Drebert reside in Sedona. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held July 29 at Moore's Home for Funerals in Wayne, N.J.
