There were no services for Otis Lester Gates, 82, of Congress, who died March 6.
Mr. Gates was born Dec. 29, 1907 in Clay, N.Y. He had lived in Arizona for 46 years, and after living in Wickenburg for a number of years, had most recently lived in Congress.
He was a retired builder, who was well known for the quality construction of his custom homes.
Over the years, Mr. Gates had worked on many prominent building in Wickenburg, often donating his services for work on public buildings which included the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and Wickenburg Community Hospital.
He enjoyed hunting on the Arizona desert and fishing at Rocky Point and Lake Alamo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, in 1987.
Survivors include four sons, Gerald of Redlands, Calif., Rudy of Wickenburg, Richard of Apache Junction and Larry of Congress; two daughters, Phyllis Wells of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sheila Fletcher of Vienna, Va.; two sisters, Gladys Miller of Sun City, Fla., and Dorothy Palmer of N. Syracuse, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
