Roy P. Moruss II, age 66, a 7-year resident of Bullhead City, left us on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, in Bullhead City, Ariz. He was born September 17, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Roy, who retired from Pacific Bell in 2002 as a Communications Technician DMS, served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969 on the U.S.S. Brinkley Bass (DD887) and the U.S.S. Kearsarge (CVS-33).
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Moruss Sr. and his mother, Florence Moruss.
Roy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cheryl; daughter, Ginni (Jorge) Lopez of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandson, Mason of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Christie Moruss of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, James (Sherry) Moruss; nephew, Jerry Moruss of Las Vegas, Nev; uncle, Donald (Kathy) Carlson of Hurlock, Md.; two cousins, Marilyn (Terry) Blair of Rocky Point, N.C. and Tracy (Dave) Smith of Spring Valley, Calif.; sister-in-law, Linda Acox of Bullhead City; Roy's longtime friends, Ron and Marsha Weber of Camarillo, Calif, Allen Grant of Port Charlotte, Fla., Mike and Elaine Harrington of Winnetka, Calif., Faye and Dr. Robert Amster of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; as well as many new friends that he made while living in Ariz. and his time working at Pacific Bell.
Roy was one of God's most wonderful creations and we will forever miss his wonderful voice and quick wit. Roy was a loving husband, father and friend, and he will be missed greatly by those who new him.
There will be a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2011, at Dimond and Sons Silver Bell Chapel, 2620 Silver Creek Rd., Bullhead City.
Funeral services will be in California.
