KOLOMITZ, Bud

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Thursday, February 03, 2011 Bud Kolomitz, 65, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, in Phoenix. Mr. Kolomitz was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Winslow. Although Mr. Kolomitz lived the past few years in the Phoenix area to be close to his children, his home was always Winslow. Throughout his years in Winslow, he was an active Elk. His favorite pastime was cooking in the lodge kitchen and teasing children. He loved baseball and spent many years volunteering with the Winslow Little League to ensure every kid got a chance to enjoy the game as much as he did. Mr. Kolomitz never met a stranger, never passed up an opportunity to hug a kid, loved to golf and lived to make others laugh. He would pick up a guitar and play and sing for anyone who would listen. He was a big man with a big heart and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Mr. Kolomitz is survived by his son. Anthony Bartholomew "Bart" Kolomitz III of Arizona City; daughter Tiffany Kolomitz of Mesa; Alison Kolomitz of Winslow; sisters Kathy Caulkins and Helen Glancy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Winslow Elks Lodge No. 536. A memorial celebration will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Elks Lodge No. 536. Condolences can be sent to www.greersmortuary.com. Greer's Mortuary of Winslow is handling arrangements.
