ROANHORSE, Michael Allen

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Thursday, February 03, 2011 Michael Allen Roanhorse, 32, of Maricopa, formerly of Flagstaff, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at the Gila River Indian Community. Mr. Roanhorse was born Jan. 11, 1979, in Gallup, N.M. His maternal clan is Tsianaajnii; his paternal clan is Tadachaaianii. Mr. Roanhorse was a police detective for the Gila River Indian Community. He enjoyed raising his sons, playing basketball and supporting ASU football and the Arizona Cardinals. Mr. Roanhorse is survived by his sons, Trenton Allen and Chooshgai Kaiba; his sons' mothers Kristy Honie of Moenkopi and Sarah Manning of Owyhee, Nev.; parents Jayne and Elmer Roanhorse of Phoenix; sister Jessica Roanhorse of Phoenix; and one niece. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Louie Morgan Sr. and Allen Roanhorse Sr.; and uncles Darrell Roanhorse and Jonathan Roanhorse. Visitation will be today at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., both at Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery in Phoenix. Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery is handling arrangements.
