Wickenburg (AZ) Sun Wednesday, April 4, 2007, p B-3 Russell E Jacobsen, age 90, passed away March 28. A memorial mass was held on Monday (April 2) at 10am at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. George Highberger as celebrant. Mr Jacobsen was born and raised in Kenosha, Wis, and was a World War II submarine veteran. He was employed as a machinist at Tri-Clover Machine Company and had served two terms as union president. He moved to Phoenix in the 1950s and was employed by Allied Signal Corporation, retiring after 18 years. He was a member of the Lions club and had served as president of the Longhaven Lions Club for three terms. He came to Wickenburg in 1988 and was a member of St Anthony's Catholic Church. He was also a life member of the local submarine chapter of Arizona Pigboaters and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Katherine Jacobsen of Wickenburg; a son Mark (Luanne); daughter Kathy; grandchildren Christine, Rebecca, Amy, Ame Sholley and Wes Jacobsen (Cristi); great-grandson Logan Jacobsen; and sister Lorraine Sorensen of Phoenix. The fsmily suggests memorial contributions be made in Russell's name to Hospice of Arizona, 2222 W Northern Ave, Ste A-100, Phoenix AZ 85021. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
