IMBS, Mary Anne

Mary Anne Imbs Passed away on January 25, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona. Born on January 24, 1935 at Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor, Michigan, she was the only child of Leo L. Runge and Anne D. Runge. Following graduation from St. Joseph Catholic High School, Anne was employed as a private secretary at the Bendix Aviation Division in St. Joseph, Michigan. On October 18, 1958, Anne married John F. (Jack) Imbs in St. Joseph. They were loving life partners until Jack's death on November 18, 2007. Anne is survived by her children, John L. (Tandi) Imbs and Susan Brewer and five grandchildren, Meagan Imbs Weaver, David and Isobel Imbs and Debra and Jennifer Brewer. There are also a number of cousins and the nephews and nieces from Jack's family who were a treasured part of Anne's life. Throughout her life, Anne was a friend to all she knew. As one of the early residents in SaddleBrooke, she met many of the new residents and was active in the early community activities, including serving as the volunteer chairman of the American Red Cross blood drives for eleven years, a program which still flourishes. The outpouring of cards, flowers and food during her illness was a great blessing to Anne. On her behalf, the family extends a sincere thank you to all who were so caring to her. A Mass to Celebrate Anne's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Santa Catalina Roman Catholic Church. All are welcome to attend. The internment will be held privately immediately following the Mass. The family requests donations be made in her name to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. The family thanks the loving staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice for their tireless efforts to make Anne's transition one of peace and grace.
