GEORGACAKIS, Angeline J. (Angie)

Angeline (Angie) J. Georgacakis born in Chicago, IL, on April 15, 1922, a beloved sister, aunt and great-aunt, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. Georgacakis and Mary J. Georgacakis; and her brothers, William J. Georgacakis, George Georgacakis and Frank Georgacakis. She is survived by her sister, Harriet Kapsal; three nieces, Ardith Snyder, Mary Lou Willmington (Edwin) and Joyce Kapsal; and one nephew, John Kapsal. She is also survived by five grandnieces, four grandnephews, six great-grandnephews, three great-grandnieces and several cousins. Angie attended J. Sterling Morton High School in Cicero, IL, and Morton Jr. College in Cicero, IL. She worked at Northern Trust, in Chicago, IL. In 1956, Angie moved to Tucson, AZ, with her parents and worked at Southern Arizona Bank until she became a full-time caregiver for her father and mother. For many years, she was an active member in her church, New Testament Baptist Church, and loved serving in the Sunday School and Awana program with boys and girls. A special thank you to all the staff at Villa Maria Care Center, where Angie resided the past four years and to Carondelet Hospice for the additional care given in Angie's final days. A Memorial Service celebrating Angie's life will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, with a Visitation at 1:00 p.m. and the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at New Testament Baptist Church, 2855 N. Craycroft Rd., Tucson, AZ. Donations in Angie's honor can be made to New Testament Baptist Church. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
