Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, Feb 9th, 2011 Mrs. Elva J. Polk, age 49 of San Carlos, Ariz. passed away on Jan. 25, 2011, at Hospice of the Valley/Friendship Village in Tempe, Ariz. She was born in San Carlos, Ariz. on Saturday, April 8, 1961, the daughter of Lawrence and Vera Hookie, Sr. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Elva is preceded in death by her mother and infant son. Elva is survived by her husband, Tracy Polk, Sr.; her daughter, Stacy Polk; her sons, Tracy Polk, Jr. and Garrison Kayson; her father, Lawrence Hooke, Sr.; her brothers, Wilmer, Delmar, Duane, Skeeter, David, Lawrence, Wayne and Delbert Hooke; her sisters Estralita (Anthony) Gilbert, Darnell H. (Mark) Burnette and Vernetta (Anthony) Armstrong; and her grandmother, Mary Victor. Wake was held on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Tracy Polk’s Sr. Residence/Airport 79. Funeral Services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church – San Carlos, Ariz. Interment followed at Upper Peridot Cemetery. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
