HOOD, Thomas S.

Thomas S. Hood died February 6, 2011. Tom was born in Racine, Wisconsin, October 30, 1927. 

He served in the U.S. Army in 1946 and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of the Arts in Business Administration in 1951. Tom married Doris Jean Tokheim in 1953 in Racine and moved back to Tucson in 1959. 

Tom was employed by Wood Brothers Lumber and as a Certified Financial Planner in Tucson until his retirement in 1993. Following Doris' death in 1997, he moved to Green Valley. 

He is survived by his daughter, Jane Hood and son-in-law, Bob Sholes of Boulder Creek, California; his son, John Hood and daughter-in-law, Catherine Hood of New York, New York; four grandchildren; his sisters, Sally McGaughey of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cynthia Lawrence of Racine, Wisconsin, Diana Sherman of Deerfield, Illinois and his special friend, Miriam Smead of Green Valley. 

Memorial Services will be held at Silver Springs, 500 W. Camino Encanto, Green Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Food Bank of Green Valley or Friends in Deed of Green Valley. Arrangements handled by GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY.
