Theodore Axel (Ted)
Theodore Axel Anderson "Ted" was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 5, 1919, died February 6, 2011.
His parents were Axel Theodore and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Anderson. Ted was married to Viola Ann Thompson for 57 years. Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Almberg and Elsie Matyas, both living in the Chicago area. Also surviving are a son, James and a daughter, Theo Whetzel living in Tucson. Ted's grandson, Dustin (Lisset) and great-grandson, Ethan James Anderson all reside in Tucson.
Ted served in WWII and was in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany under Patton. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Ted worked in a Pharmacy in Monticello, Illinois for 25 years and went out of his way to deliver medicine to those who were homebound. He was a loving husband, father, and a Patriot.
Visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Graveside Service will follow at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, AZ, at 1:00 p.m.
