The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ September 13, 2006 Eura M. Roe Former Cottonwood resident Eura M. Roe was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Beatie, Texas, to Dan and Mary Bingham, and died Sept. 2, 1006, in Concordia, Kan., at the age of 91. In 1933 she married Walter Lee Roe. The Roe family moved to Winslow in 1944, where Mr. Roe worked as a locomotive fireman/engineer. Following retirement in 1975, they moved to Cottonwood, where they lived until moving to Arkansas in 1996. Due to poor health, Mrs. Roe was a resident of a nursing home in Judsonia, Ark., for the last two years. She was in the process of relocating to Idaho when she became ill while passing through Kansas and died. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and was most recently a member of the church in Judsonia, Ark. She is survived by three children, Barney Gail Roe (June), of Brentwood, Calif.; JoAnn Alkair (Melvin), of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Martin Dan Roe (Brenda), of Safford; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
