A prominent 48-year-old local businessman was killed last week in a single car accident 40 miles north of Wickenburg.
Department of Public Safety officers said Kent Schuck, president and owner of Schuck Components and Schuck Construction, Inc. of Glendale, died at approximately 9:30 p.m. last Wednesday in an accident on U.S. Highway 93 at milepost 161, just south of the Santa Maria River.
Investigating officers said Schuck lost control of his car, a 1990 Lexus Toyota sedan, and missed a curve while traveling north on U.S. Highway 93. The car rolled several times and Schuck was ejected from the vehicle during the roll, said DPS reports.
A truck driver making a run into Bagdad first notices Schuck’s car about 7 a.m. Thursday and when returned again about 9:30 a.m., the driver stopped, found the victim’s body and notified authorizes, according to investigating officers.
DPS officers said Schuck was dead at the scene.
Schuck was the owner of the North Forty Ranch in Wickenburg, where he and his family resided.
Memorial services for Kent Roland Schuck were private at the family’s request.
Mr. Schuck was born Aug. 30, 1941 in Spencer, Iowa. He had lived in Arizona for the past 37 years.
He married Jacquelynn Sturm on Sept. 17, 1960.
He was a member of Westside Bible Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Keith, of Waddell, and Kevin and Ray, both of Wickenburg; a daughter, Bobbi Lynn of Waddell; two brothers, Rande Schuck of Phoenix and Mark Schuck of Show Low; his parents, Bob and Pearl Schuck; and four grandchildren.
