Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 21, 1990 Services were Wednesday, June 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg for Charles, A. Counterman, 76, a former Wickenburg resident who died June 8 at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, N.M. Mr. Counterman served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of American Legion Post No. 35 in Columbus, Ga. He had been postmaster at Swartswood, N.J. for 22 years before retiring to Wickenburg. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Columbus, Ga.; sons Sgt. Charles A. Jr. of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Peter M. of Albuquerque; a daughter, Candy Ann Sumner of Phoenix; sister, Ruth Profit of Dover, N.J.; and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donation be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
