Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 21, 1990 Services were earlier this month in Garnett, Kan. for George L. Shaw, 76; a former Wickenburg resident who died may 30 in Sun City. Burial was in the Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Shaw was born May 22, 1914 in Morris County, Kan. He was a farmer and rancher and later went into law enforcement and then worked with the Kansas Game and Fish Department as a game protector until his retirement to Arizona in 1975. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Donald in 1974; and a sister, Blanche Longacre. Mr. Shaw was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Southern Baptist Church in Morristown. Survivors include his wife, Berniece; two daughters, Janice McGie of Branson, Mo., and Sandi Peine of Garnett; three sisters, Mary Britt of Hutchinson, Kan., Charlotte Swain of Wichita, and Eva Kohler of Council Grove, Kan.; a brother, Lawrence Shaw of Salina, Kan. 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
